New ways for kids to make money

by Leave a Comment

Most children do chores around the house for pocket money, and then wash cars or mow lawns to make extra money.  The problem is that there are only so many lawns to mow and cars to wash, and variety is the spice of life.  Other limitations which hinder your children from making money include the laws which govern employers that prohibit them from hiring people below a certain age.

Here are some unique ideas for your children to make some extra money.

Techno Savvy – Charge people to help them set up their own profiles on social media sites and to teach them how to manage their profile.

Weeding – The lawn you mow has a garden, so earn extra money by weeding the garden.

Errand Runner – Responsible children are perfectly capable of running errands like grocery shopping, mailing letters and picking up dry cleaning.

House Sitting – Teenagers are capable of bringing in mail, feeding animals and switching lights on and off while you are away.

Water Fun – As youngsters everyone had a blast playing with hose pipes and sprinklers.  Now you can make some money by watering flower bed and gardens.

Spring Clean Help – Earn money doing the chores that home owners hate like washing windows, wiping down shelves, polishing silver etc.

Love Pets – Take your pet walking service to a new level by pet sitting.

Homework Assistance – Teenagers can help younger children with their homework.

Coaching – Athletic and talented children can coach interested children and share their talents.

Private Tutor – Artistic children could give lessons to others,  it would be a lot cheaper than hiring a professional tutor.

Kitchen Helper – Charge your busy neighbors to o the prep work for dinner for them.  Defrosting meat, washing and chopping vegetables, and preparing rice or pasta take time, but hiring someone to do it for you is easier and quicker.

Although a lot of these things seem too simple to hire people to do, we live in a time of convenience and there are many buy people who would welcome the help for a small fee.
