About

Finance Girl is  Julie Cheung, a Manchester based (infrequent) blogger covering topics mainly on personal finance but personal posts make occasional appearances too :-)

I started this blog as a way of documenting my financial journey and while I’ve always been pretty frugal, it’s only recently that I’ve been proactive about learning more on personal finance and money matters in general.

Who am I?

I trade traded Forex (FX) sporadically as a part-time hobby with plans for it to become a full-time profession one day. Always looking at different ways to grow my finances including alternative investments and savings ideas, such as peer to peer lending, and crowdfunding projects. Currently working as project manager on various projects at The Robert Street Hub.

Competitive Olympic weightlifting takes up a lot of my spare time, regularly competing in the 53kg category across the UK (and Europe soon), so fitness is an important part of my life.

Mr. Pancake and I live in the sunny, leafy suburb of Levenshulme, Manchester (I lie, it’s rarely sunny but the road I reside on is certainly leafy and muddy). Besides my mortgage (and student loan), I am fortunately debt free and have savings and investment goals which I hope to share with you on my blog.

Disclaimer

The posts I write and share on this blog is purely for informational and entertainment purposes and I am not, nor claim to be a financial expert of any kind. Please make your own decisions on what to do with your own finances as advice that is effective for one person may not be suitable for another as our financial (and personal) circumstances are all so different.

If you’d like to connect with me, I would love to hear from you! You can contact me through my contact form, or on Twitter.
