A survey run in America recently found out that young investors and women are the two groups of people who know the least about investments. According to this article the reason for this is that in years gone by women fell into a lower income group and therefore had no means to partake in investing, and the younger investor is not educated about investing before trying to get into the investment market.
Another reason why women do not have extensive knowledge of investing is because in years gone by this was a male dominated industry, if you had some money and wanted to invest it you would go speak to your father or other male family member or close friend and let them advise you on your plan of action.
The article is informative, although it does not give solutions to the claims. As a woman, the only way to have investment savvy would be to indulge in the investment market and learn, although there are financial advisers who can guide you on your investing journey, this does not really teach you anything.
Maybe the top investment companies should think of holding some workshops or classes for the aspiring investor to attend.
