Curry Culture, Stockport - Vegetarian, Vegan, Jain & Swaminaryan Restaurant

by Leave a Comment

Curry Culture is a newly opened Indian restaurant on Stockport Road, which serves a huge variety of vegetarian, vegan, Jain (vegetarian, omitting root vegetables) and Swaminarayan (vegetarian minus garlic and onions) dishes.

While I occasionally eat meat, I am a fan of creative and flavoursome vegetarian dishes so having a place like Curry Culture so nearby pleases me.

This was from my second visit (in as many months) with my friend Craige, who also took the photos below. We ordered a number of dishes to share as we couldn’t decide what to have. Instead of waffling further, I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

A masala poppadom, not on the menu but specially created by the chef for my spicy loving palette :)

Pani puri - a popular street food consisting of fried hollow wheat ball (puri) filled with a chat masala mix and a jug of spicy tangy juice (pani) to pour into the puri.

Dahi puri - another popular street food originating from Mumbai.

Chilli Paneer - one tasty dish with an amalgamation of textures and nice hint of spice

Gujarati Thali (we also ordered the Punjabi Thali but forgot to take photos) - a selection of 6 mini dishes with a drink of salted lassi.

Dahi Vada with a side of mixed veg, nuts and pomegranates.

Whether you are a vegan, vegetarian or neither, I highly recommend you book a visit. The dishes are divine :)
