Withdrawing Money While on Holiday Abroad

Withdrawing money while abroad is more expensive than you think
Withdrawing money while abroad is more expensive than you think

With the increase in global crime and the advancement of technology there are few people that actually carry cold hard cash on them, it is easier to withdraw cash when necessary or just swipe your card.  The problem is that when you are abroad the charges involved with withdrawing from a foreign ATM or even swiping your debit card cut into your spending money a lot faster than you would imagine.

There are other options to plastic cash while abroad, one of them being a pre-paid debit card which does not charge you to load money or to use the card.  Another option would be to swipe your credit card, but make sure that you DO NOT withdraw cash from your credit card while abroad.

When you planning your holiday it is probably best to set your spending money at a specific amount and then load a prepaid debit card which doesn’t charge, that way you have the exact amount of spending money available and you not tempted to go over your budget.
