We all know that summer is the perfect time to go away and get some relaxation time in, spending precious moments with family and friends is what summer is all about.  Unfortunately there are a lot of people who are not able to go away this summer due to financial constraints, the article on Business Insider has some valuable tips.

Instead of resorting to spending your holiday time at home and dreaming of past holidays where you had oodles of fun, sit down and plan a little so that you can get away, even if its only for a week!

Choose your traveling time carefully – Unless you have children, there is no rule that you have to go in the middle of summer.  Choosing to go to your dream holiday destination after the rush will mean that you save money on transport and accommodation.

Stay outside of the city – If you wanting to visit a major tourist attraction, rather look for your accommodation close to the city of choice, but not IN the city of choice.

Pack Lightly – You going on holiday, not a fancy dress parade!  Pack as little as possible and try get it all into your carry on luggage so that you do not have to pay checked in fees.  Also carry light snacks to eat during the flight instead of having to pay the high prices for food on the plane.

Choose your destination carefully – Places that are very popular in the winter can be just as beautiful and full of fun during the summer, and they a lot cheaper during the summer.

Book in advance – The more in advance you place your bookings, the cheaper your flights and accommodation will be.  Also shop around online for the cheapest airfares.

Being on a tight budget doesn’t mean that you can not save up a little and still enjoy a break away, having a holiday is good for the body, mind and soul.  Best you start planning and booking now, before you know it, its going to be time to relax!
