The reality of Bitcoin

I watched this video online a few days ago where a journalist from the Guardian spoke with the master minds behind Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the fastest growing online currency in the world, allowing you to send money anywhere in the world at any time of the day or night.  It is not a centralized currency and cannot be controlled by any institution at this point in time.

The magazine editor relates Bitcoin to emails in the video, because emails have taken over where post offices use to be the norm and they expecting Bitcoin to become more popular as a currency for doing your purchases or sending money internationally from the comfort of your own home.  Each Bitcoin has its own value which is hidden on the physical coin by a hologram.

Bitcoin has been criticized for making the purchase of drugs easier for people, although the developers of Bitcoin have indicated that they provide Bitcoin as a tool for international trading, whether that tool is used for negative or illegal purposes is no reflection on hem.

Could Bitcoin become an internationally recognized online trading currency?  Watch the video and decide for yourself!
