There are a lot of people that are fortunate enough to have mom and dad around with the available funding to help them into their own home, but as the global recession has affected everyone the chances of mom and dad being able to afford to help their darlings into their own home is getting smaller and smaller especially since the price of houses and deposits is increasingly at an alarming rate.
The concern is that even though parents are helping their children into their own home it has masked the actual problem within the housing industry, and as people are forced to tighten their purse strings the crisis is going to get worse.
The solution is to implement plans to build more houses which are affordable for low income households, and although there are a lot of plans for this to happen, nothing is happening as yet. Young people are renting homes in the hope that they can save to buy their own and according to the article on The Guardian this will take approximately 30 years to achieve.
