Online Side Hustles: How To Make Extra Money While Studying

April 4, 2020 by Julie Leave a Comment

Your time in university is extremely busy and working is sometimes not an option. Especially since many part time jobs for college students don’t even pay that much to make it worth it.

Sure, there is financing available to help students get through their time as students but it can be tricky to figure out especially depending on where you are. Student finance NI contact can help to secure funding but you’ll be paying that debt back and could use some savings to help.

This is where having an online job or business is helpful. Working online is flexible and can often pay more than a typical job for college students. In this article, I will go over some of the ways you can make money online.

Social media manager

College students are usually really good at using social media. Because of this, bloggers and businesses are often looking to hire a student to help them with their web presence on social media.

Take advantage of this by putting yourself out there as a social media manager. The pay is usually pretty good and the work is not very intense. You can usually work just a few hours per day in your spare time.

Many local businesses near your university will be looking to increase their brand amongst the students in the area and will gladly pay somebody that can help them do that.

Freelancing

There are loads of possibilities when it comes to freelancing. You can use whatever your talent is to make money. If you like to write, then a freelance writing gig is easy to come by.

Love video or photography? Then you could put yourself out there as an editor for videographers or photographers.

People are always looking to outsource the aspects of their business that normally would take up a lot of their time. This is where you come in. Taking these types of jobs off of their plate can put some money in your pocket and give you some real life experience that could help you later on.

Tutoring

You may not feel like an expert in some of your subjects, but you can definitely help others who are not doing well in their studies.

As an online tutor, you will not only get paid, but you will feel great about helping others overcome their obstacles. You can end up with students from all over the world and in different time zones. This could help you stay flexible and be able to work in your downtimes from studying.

Blogging

If you have the time and patience, you can grow a blog into a full time income. Pick a topic to blog about and then make money off of ads and even affiliate programs in which you make money when people purchase through your links.

It takes time to grow your audience, but if you stick with it there is a lot of money to be made.
