There has been huge debate about whether or not the megabanks of the world should break up into smaller divisions or not. In a recent report published from Goldman their attempts to discourage the breakup of the megabanks was not very successful.

For investors and the general public it would be better if the megabanks were broken down into smaller companies as there would be more control and transparency on what goes on inside.
