Divorce is expensive

by Leave a Comment

We all know that as a woman when you walk down that aisle the last thing on your mind is divorce, but as years go by and

things you expected to change don’t or circumstances change and you can not take it anymore, the only option available is divorce.

There are many couples that get married on a daily basis without worrying about having any prenuptual contract put in place.  I read an article recently which highlighted the 17 most expensive divorce settlements to date.

Triggered by the news that Harold Hamm of Continental Resources is splitting from his second wife Sue Ann Hamm, and could possibly have to give her 68% of his company, which is worth $11.2 billion, the article goes on to list some other high profile divorces which have taken place all exceeding a few million dollars in payout.

Although it is not only high profile people or the billionaires that land up paying out hefty sums for the divorce settlement to be finalized, it does make one wonder if divorce is being seen as an easy way to make some real cash.
