There has been a rumor going around that Justin Bieber and other high profile celebrities have the ability to damage advertising budgets for people who buy tweets on twitter. The reason for this is that followers of celebrities are prone to re-tweet their tweets which would make single word tweets that could be part of advertising key words more popular and raise their pricing.
Journalists at [Business Insider] spoke to the TBG Digital and ran a small campaign to see if this rumor had any truth to it, the results of the campaign are in the article, which is an interesting read.
More interesting to me though, was the statement that out of 500 million twitter accounts there are approximately 40% of people that do not tweet at all.
