5 great vegan gifts on a budget

by Leave a Comment

Veganism is growing around the world, with more people choosing to not only become vegan through the food they eat, but also in the products they buy and the way they shop.

If you have friends who are vegans, this can make the perfect gift idea. There are new vegan products, services and foods coming out all the time, and gifting them to your friends can be a great way to help them find new things.

So, let us take a look at five great vegan gifts on a budget.

  1. Gifting vegan food

Food delivered fresh to one’s door is growing in popularity. There are a number of companies that now offer this service and provide fresh food or ingredients to be made at home. Together with the traditional recipes and food, you can now get vegan food delivered to your door.

As a gift, you can either arrange a one-off vegan meal kit that the recipient can then continue to receive as a subscription if they wish, or you can send foods such as vegan donuts for them to enjoy.

Sending food is a great way to show your recipients some of the alternatives now available without them having to spend any money.

  1. DIY plant milk maker

One of the biggest developments in vegan food is milk alternatives. There are now many varieties with cafes and coffee shops offering a range of milk alternatives to their customers.

It can sometimes be difficult to find the one you like, and some are still a little expensive. However, you can solve this issue by getting your friend or family member a DIY plant milk maker.

These appliances are easy to use, and the user can simply add nuts, oats, seeds or whatever they want, together with water. The user can then leave it to do its work while they get on with other things. It will then create creamy plant-based milk that won’t need to be strained, which is what usually takes time to do.

  1. Vegan recipe books

Although many people will buy cookbooks on the things they love such as vegan food, there are always new books being released that they might not have yet.

If you know someone that is becoming vegan or who has just started, then they may welcome some recipe ideas to get them started. This can be especially useful if they don’t have much free time to cook or prepare meals, as you can find them a quick and easy vegan cookbook to help make it easier.

To make it extra special, why not throw in some ingredients for one of the recipes so that they can get started straight away? Choose something simple and quick to make, so that they don’t have to take much time out to make the dish.

  1. Tofu press

Tofu is a popular meat alternative that many vegans use. It is versatile and able to take on the flavour of any dish you want.

To get the texture that you want, you can buy vegan presses that can be used to create the firmness and consistency needed.

Although many vegans may use tofu, there may not be many vegans that use a tofu press in their cooking. Even if it is something that they have never thought about, it could be a game-changer for them.

  1. Vegan bags and clothes

You will likely need to know what taste the person receiving this type of gift has before you start looking. There are many options available that are certified as vegan, but it is still a good idea to know what your friend or family member likes.

Although some vegans may only concentrate on food, they will still appreciate something that is vegan friendly and meets their philosophy. It is important, however, that you find something that is certified, as there can be products that say they are vegan friendly but actually aren’t.

It doesn’t have to be an expensive process to find a really useful and appreciated gift. There are many products from bathroom accessories to soaps and creams that are vegan friendly and still reasonably priced.

If you are feeling especially creative, why not make something for them? You can find many DIY vegan products online that will help you create something they will like.

Conclusion

With veganism still growing and new things being discovered all the time, it can be the perfect idea to give something ‘vegan’ as a gift. Whether you are going to make something for them, or get them a gadget to use at home, it will be a thoughtful way to show your care.
