When you serious about saving money you have to realize that you have to make changes to your lifestyle.  The best changes are the small ones which might not save you hundreds immediately, but over time your savings could easily add up to thousands

The following list of ideas is easy to implement, but you need to try them all and see which ones you are comfortable with, and then add them to your daily routine.

Cook at home – it is a lot cheaper to cook at home than it is to eat out on a regular basis.

Cook extras – buy ingredient in bulk and cook it all, then freeze the extras for quick and simple meals.

Free exercise and electricity – take a walk after dark at night, after super is a great time, before you go switch off all the lights, TV and computer.

Read for entertainment – instead of turning on the computer or the TV, pick up a book and read for a while.  Reading is easy to achieve by the light of a lamp and much cheaper than a computer or TV.

Open windows – instead of relying on air conditioners or climate control, open the windows.  This is healthier than the electronic air and cheaper.

Spring clean the pantry – go through the pantry and find all the items you bought on special months ago, you save on your next grocery bill.

Weekly menus – make a list of each meal for each day based on items you have in the house, then go shopping with a list for the few ingredient you don’t have, stick to your list and save money again.

Cupboard spring clean – all the appliances and clothing that you have bought intending to use and wear then forgotten about is just a money pit sitting waiting to be delved into.

Check your bills – go through your bills and check that there are no charges that you are not aware of, if there is no problems there at least you know what you being charged so you can shop around for cheaper deals.

Befriend your neighbors – apart from making friends, which everyone needs, they will happily lend you items like a screwdriver or some sugar instead of you having to buy things all the time.

Some of these ideas might be old for you, but if you have others you welcome to share them in the comments.
